CLASSIC
MOUNTAIN DAYS
A chance to explore the Lake District fells under our expert guidance.
We will complete a variety of classic fell walks from our central
base in Ambleside. Each course offers different walks so you may
book more than one.
Previous experience – You should be comfortable walking 7-8
hrs per day with around 1200m (3-4000ft) of ascent.

INTRODUCTION TO NAVIGATION
Starting from scratch our instructors will give you the basic skills
to explore the mountains with confidence. The course will cover:
map symbols, scales, grids, contours, pacing, altimeters and using
a compass as aids to finding your way around mountain terrain. Previous
experience - none required.

For those who wish to develop their navigation skills, this course
will cover all aspects of advanced navigation and will give you
the confidence to find your way in any weather conditions, day or
night. Previous experience - basic navigation skills.

BACKGROUND
INFORMATION
Adventure Peaks is located in Ambleside making it an ideal
base for you to explore and enjoy the Lake District whilst developing
essential skills.
ACCOMMODATION
Courses
are offered on a non-residential or bed and breakfast basis. For
residential courses, the accommodation is booked from the night
of your arrival, with instruction starting the following morning.
Single room supplements may apply.
INSTRUCTION
Course
activities start from our Ambleside shop at 9.15am, finishing around
5pm except on the final day when you will finish around 4pm to take
account of onward travel. Please come prepared with appropriate
equipment for all types of weather plus a packed lunch. A full information
sheet and equipment list is provided on booking.
TRANSPORT
ARRANGEMENTS
During the course we normally ask clients to share transport however
if you are without we ask that you
contribute to the shared cost.
