Background This course of alpine training is set in a magnificent
and unspoiled area far away from the crowded European Alps, in
the beautiful mountain range situated close to Bishkek. It provides
a fully inclusive and cost effective way to learn the essential
alpine skills whilst also developing an understanding of expeditions
and to sample a different culture. Only a very small number of
people have travelled to this range of mountains, and so there
will be a sense of remoteness.
The course will aim to cover -
• Glacier travel & crevasse rescue
• Avalanche awareness
• Route choice
• Ascent of two or three peaks (4,000m to
5000m)
