Learn
alpine skills in the unforgettable location that is the Tein Shan
in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Background
This course of alpine training is set in a magnificent
and unspoiled area far away from the crowded European Alps, in
the beautiful Kuilu range situated close to the Kyrgyz-Chinese
border. It provides a fully inclusive and cost effective way to
learn the essential alpine skills whilst also developing an understanding
of expeditions and to sample a different culture. Only a very
small number of people have travelled to this range of mountains
and so there are a wealth of unclimbed peaks. It would be our
intention to attempt an easier one as part of your course.Where
else could you climb a virgin peak on your first alpine experience!
The course will aim to cover -
• Glacier travel & crevasse rescue
• Avalanche awareness
• Route choice
• Ascent of two or three peaks (4,000m to 5200m) including
the possibility of one unclimbed peak.
