Our traverse includes the optional technical ascent of Torre de Cerredo 2648m, Pico’s’ highest peak. The Picos lie close to Spain’s northern coast; a region of beauty, steep sided valleys and rugged limestone peaks scattered with settlements of attractive old stone buildings. The highlights of the trip will be an exciting traverse including the dramatic 1500 metre-deep Gorge del Cares, overnight stay at the base of El Naranjo de Bulness (2519m) the Pico’s most celebrated peak, the summit of Pena-Vieja (2631m) a superb viewpoint and the optional scramble/climb to the summit of Torre de Cerredo.
