February - The team should be arriving back in Mendoza tomorrow and looking forward to a well earned rest before flying back to the UK on the 12th.
6th
February - Dafydd has contacted Dave Pritt down at base camp. The group went for the summit yesterday, Robert reached the butress at the start of the Canaletta before deciding to head back. Craig, Keith & Dafydd decided to push on and successfully gained the summit. All the team plan to be back in base camp tomorrow.
30th
January - Dafydd has just phoned in to let
us know that everyone's moving up to Camp 1. The load carries have
gone well and everyone's well. They'll have a rest day at the camp
before starting the process of establishing Camp 2.
26th
January - The team have just arrived at Base
Camp (4200m) to be greeted by members of our earlier successful
expedition who are on their way down to celebrate. They're one day
ahead of schedule and looking forward to getting to grips with the
mountain. Tomorrow's a rest day before they start moving up to Camp
1
24th
January - Well everything is going according
to plan, the team have arrived in Mendoza and recovered from their
jet lag. Permits have been organised and fresh food has been bought.
They will be starting their three day walk in to base camp today.
16th
December -
Robert, Craig & Keith will depart from London Gatwick on 20th
January and will travel into BC with a local guide, where they will
meet up with Dafydd. The rest of the team will travel in from Santiago
and meet up with them at BC.
