Unfortunately
Joe has had a small accident whilst climbing Condoriri with one
of the clients and has injured his ankle, which has meant he's had
to return back to La Paz. Sadly he will not be able to carry on
with the Expedition for the Final two Peaks, so Cecilio the local
guide from the 4th July trip will replace Joe. Everyone else in
the group is fine and are looking forward to the next mountain adventure
of Huayana Potosi. All the team and staff at AP wish Joe a speedy
recovery.

Joe
has just phoned in from Base Camp where the team have had a very
successful first few days. They have made ascents of Pico Austria,
Pyramid Blanca and Pequeno Alpamayo, the latter on an absolutely
stunning day. Today is a bit of a rest day with a spot of ice climbing
planned before they attempt the rarely climbed Illusion the following
day.

'I
arrived yesterday ahead of the rest of the team after my flight
from Lima to La Paz was diverted through Iquiqua, Chile, putting
another ten hours on the journey.
Steve,
Joanne, Nick and Martin arrived at 07:15 this morning and Alex,
the local agent, and I were there to greet them.
It was slightly bad timing as I was only half way through my breakfast,
I have assured them that it will not affect our relationship. We
have had lunch and bought maps for the three climbing areas that
we are to visit. Nikolaus
joined us at 16.00 and the team is now complete. Everyone is in
high spirits and looking forward to future
challenges. The weather has been a little unstable for two or three
days but it shouldn't effect our schedule.
Tomorrow
we are off to Lake Titicaca and the Isle De Sol for our first acclimatisation
walk on Wednesday'.
