18th April We've just had the latest news from Dave Kenyon. The whole team are now safely back in Namche Bazar, tired but proud of their achievements in the Himalaya. Chris, Matt, Kevin, Sarah, Mike, Ross and Dave all summited Island Peak. Of the others John turned around on the climb feeling fairly rough and Cameron never really recovered from his earlier cold and elected to stay in Dingboche with Callum & Peter. From Namche one long days walk will take them back to Lukla for their flight back to Kathmandu where they can finally relax and celebrate!
11th April The majority of the group have successfully reached their goal and got those classic views of Everest from kala Patar. Base camp was almost a village in itself with it's own bakery, cyber cafe and massage parlour as there's more than 30 teams attempting Everest from the south this spring. Unfortuently Cameron was suffering from a bad cold and had to drop down to lower altitudes but all being well should rejoin the group in the next couple of days. The next stage of the expedition takes them south around the bulk of the world's fourth highest mountain - Lhotse, to reach Island Peak's base camp.
5th April Dave's just emailed from Namche Bazaar. The treks going well and everybody aclimatising well with no reported problems. They've got a rest day tomorrow to help their bodies adapt but should get their first views of Everest.
2nd April The team will be arriving in Nepal this afternoon. They will have a couple of days exploring Kathmandu before flying out to Lukla for the start of the Trek to Everest BC.
