Lhakpa Ri

Update 28/04/07:

The team are now back in Kathmandu enjoying a well deserved beer. Lhasa was a pretty special experience and although they had some difficulties on their return journey they can now relax before begging the journey back to a sunny UK.

Update 24/04/07:

Bob, Stuart & Dafydd headed out to the North Col yesterday, Celia in the end decided not to attempt the route. Sadly Bob & Stuart reached crampon coner and felt they were not going strong enough to reach the Col, they decided to head back to ABC. So only Dafydd made it up to the Col. The team will descend to BC tomorrow before heading out on their journey to Lhasa.

Update 21/04/07:

Vincent and Dafydd have successfully climbed Lhakpa Ri, it was a long day to the summit and back, but the conditions were good under foot and the views as Dafydd likes to put it "Awesome". Dafydd will have a day or two rest before taking the rest of the team up to the North Col. Vincent can enjoy a few days rest at ABC while the group make their attempt.

Update 12/04/07 - 1pm GMT:

Update 10/04/07 - 11am GMT:

Message sent by email today by Dafydd Morris (Lhakpa Ri & North Col Leader):

The Everest Summit, North Col and Lhakpa Ri Teams have all successfully made it to Base Camp. All Members are acclimatising well and are enjoying the BC atmosphere. Everest is truly awe inspiring! The food is fantastic as are the Sherpa support team. We've been busy organising kit and setting up the Comms, which all seems to be working well. Weather is very cold with northerly winds, which has brought cloud obscuring Everest.

I will send team photo tomorrow once we have some views.
