August - All the team are now back safe in the UK after a very successful trip.
6th
August - Everyone is now safe down at BC and prepraing for their helicopter flight back to Maidadyr.
5th
August - 100% summit
success - All 9 members of the expedition have successfully
reached the 6200m summit of Peak Chapayev. They are currently descending
the fixed lines towards Base Camp.
3rd
August - The team are now at camp 2 ready
to make their bid for the summit tomorrow. Ben said that all the
team have been going strong and looking forward to the summit attempt.
26th
July - The whole team have just returned to
Base Camp after a couple of days out exploring the Inylchek Glacier
gaining some much needed acclimatisation. Everyone is going well
and enjoying the good weather. After a rest day tomorrow they plan
to make a first carry to Camp 1 on Peak Chapayev.
23rd
July - Ben and the team have dropped off at
Base Camp by the helicopter. They did have some delay en-route to
the Helipad at a border checkpoint, but apart from that inconvenience
the group are fine and looking forward to starting their climbing.
19th
July - Unfortunately at the last minute Jon Boylan was not able to join the team departing UK due to a severe bout of food poisoning.
15th
July - The group will depart the UK on the 19th July. |
