Adventure Peaks, in liaison with our expert Jordanian guide, have created this unique adventurous itinerary for those who want to experience something a little bit different with some pioneering exploration thrown in for good measure. Here we offer the ever popular trek to the Rose Red City of Petra, but with a few extras added in at the start, along the way and at the end.
We kick off with a 2-day descent of one of Jordan’s little known but amazing canyons that cut through the walls of the Great Rift Valley and emerge on the floor of WadiAraba, spending one night under the stars on the way. Heading to Petra (a route pioneered by our guide a few years ago) we add an extra day to ascend Abu Mahmoud, the highest peak in the Sharah mountain range – seldom climbed but giving breathtaking views. We spend two days exploring the extensive site of Petra including some of its outlying monuments and crazy rock formations. In Wadi Rum only the brave can walk across the regions highest rock bridge. Finally we ascend the highest peak in Jordan, JabalUm Dami(1853m) to the south of Wadi Rum. A night in Aqaba rounds off this amazing adventure.
