The Andes – Patagonia – Fitz Roy – Cerre Torre – Torres del Paine – glaciers and penguins and the ends of the Earth at Tierra del Fuego. What do these names conjure up in anyone’s mind? If there is ever a ‘must visit’ part of the world, this is it! We have developed this ‘active’ itinerary for the Best of Patagonia Trek to enable you to appreciate this region in all its glory and to see as much of it as possible in a two week trip. There is no extended trekking, but instead a series of day walks for you to get out and enjoy being close to the massive glaciers, wildlife, granite mountains, turquoise-blue lakes and forests that make Patagonia a special place.

The Best of Patagonia Trek takes you right on down to ‘The Land of Fires’, Tierra del Fuego, where you will be able to appreciate the stark serene beauty of this wilderness, finishing your journey with a boat trip on the Beagle Channel. Travel on this trip is via the busy capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires.

Why not extend your trip with a visit to Iguassu Falls from Buenos Aires? Please contact our Office for more details.

This trip will operate with just 1 person. You will be joining clients from other countries in Argentina and led by a local Argentinian guide.
Maximum group size is 16.

THIS TRIP CAN ALSO BE OPERATED AS A PRIVATE DEPARTURE ON ANY DATES DURING THE SEASON FOR 2 OR MORE PEOPLE BOOKING TOGETHER FOR A SMALL SUPPLEMENT. PLEASE CONTACT US FOR A QUOTATION.

Prices are inclusive of domestic flights from and back to Buenos Aires in Argentina. However please be aware that supplements may apply as prices for these flights are subject to change.

Insurance

It is essential for a trip of this type that you are adequately insured. When researching insurance options, please ensure the policy covers you for the following:

  • Cancellation or curtailment
  • Helicopter rescue (most insurance companies will no longer cover for ‘search and rescue’ but providing you stay with the group, they will assist with ‘rescue’)
  • Repatriation
  • The altitude that you are expected to attain
  • The location especially when travelling to Antarctica
  • Grade of trek/climb/expedition
  • Medical cover

Adventure Peaks partners with Global Rescue to offer the world’s leading travel protection services. Medical and security emergencies happen. When they do, we rely on Global Rescue to provide our clients with medical, security, travel risk and crisis response services. Without a membership, an emergency evacuation could cost over $100,000. More than one million members trust Global Rescue to get them home safely when the unexpected happens. We highly recommend our clients enroll with Global Rescue, in particular for peaks over 7000m:

We’d always wanted to visit Patagonia and looked at many organised trips which involved sitting on coaches, tango lessons and visiting vineyards – fine if this is your sort of holiday, but we wanted to walk as well. Adventure Peaks’ Highlights of Patagonia included a few days’ excellent (and quite challenging) walking, some long days travelling through Argentina and Chile (don’t underestimate the distances) with vast and beautiful scenery for entertainment, and the ultimate excitement of Tierra del Fuego. All our accommodation was neat and clean, the pick-ups and transfers were like clockwork and our vegetarian packed lunches were excellent. Adventure Peaks’ pre- holiday administration was smart and friendly, and the trip experience was managed brilliantly by our local guide Mariana, who was a star – relaxed, friendly and super-organised. 5 star holiday!

The Fitzroy walk was not the longest - it was quite easy in fact. The walk up to Torres del Paine was longer but excellent.

All round, the trip met my expectations, which were high. Only downside was a 12 hour flight delay returning to Heathrow but outside of your control.
