Dramatic views of the Matterhorn & Mont Blanc Spectacular walking Climb to the base of the Matterhorn

This is the Walkers’ Haute Route that links Chamonix, Arolla and Zermatt. Although lower and easier than the Classic Haute Route, you will immediately find yourself immersed in the incredible mountain scenery, the very best in the Alps.

Skirting glaciers, we ascend passes gaining breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, including the 4000+m giants of Dent Blanche, Zinalrothorn, Weisshorn and, of course, Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn. On reaching Zermatt, as a climax, we will take a final steep walk up to the Hornli Alpine hut, situated directly at the base of the world famous Matterhorn.

Suitable for the experienced trekker who is used to rugged terrain and has a good level of fitness. Accommodation will be a variety of hotels, gites and spectacularly located refuges.
