Chris Horobin turned around after approx 2 hours and the rest of us summited Aconcagua at approx 2pm to clear views if somewhat slightly cold

4 members of the team and 2 guides made it up to camp 2 for the second big carry, Chris Horobin and Damian Peralta plus clients Simon Giles, Karen Farley, Ryan Farley and Andrew Horton. We had to skip the following rest day and shoot for the summit that night due to weather after minimal sleep, Karen decided to stay at camp 2 and the rest of us headed for the summit. We made a radio call to Karen at camp 2 from the summit took snaps and then quickly headed down due to weather. It was a great team effort from all who went for the summit and especially to Karen who waited at camp two and nursed us and fed watered us upon our weary return, so thanks to all, great trip.

7th February – Chris and the team are now at Camp 2 waiting for a weather window to make their summit attempt. Jean and Raelene have returned to Mendoza but are both well if a little battered from their mule ride down from Base Camp. Good luck to the rest of the team on their push for the summit

2nd February – The team have now established Camp 1 and are now back down at base camp. They plan to move up to camp 1 tomorrow. So far the weather has been good with the odd bit of strong wind.

31st January – Chris has just phoned from Base Camp where the team are all well and enjoying a rest day before the hard work starts. Tomorrow they plan to make their first carry to Camp 1 before returning to Base Camp. The weather is rapidly improving and the usual stable weather system seems to be returning after the storms of the past few weeks.

24th January – All the team depart the UK today for Mendoza.
