Return to the Mountains and Summit Success
As the world opens up, October saw us return to the mountains.
Russia removed its quarantine requirements in October so we jumped at the chance to get our first Elbrus clients to the summit for over two years. The group departed the UK on October 2nd and were on the summit of Elbrus one week later in beautiful sunshine!
Nepal also opened its doors to us in October and we were quickly on our way to Mera Peak 6476m and Baruntse 7129m. The weather wasn’t quite as kind, halting Mera Peak at high camp 5800m with heavy snow and whiteout conditions. On Baruntse the team was also able to reach high camp at 6410m despite winds of more than 85 km/hr for multiple days.
