The Team Leader : Di Gilbert

Peter Ellis, Stuart Long, David Woodman, John Bates

16th Sep 100% SUCCESS RECORD REMAINS INTACT! – Di emailed in to say that all the team reached the summit of Carstensz Pyramid with clear blue skies and not a drop of rain to be seen. So despite the problems seen earlier in the trip with tribal conflicts blocking the route into the mountain, the team still managed to helicopter into base camp and bag the summit. Well done to all and have a safe journey back to the UK

8th Sep  Di emailed in to say the team had all arrived in Jakarta without any problems. They have made a couple more flights and are now in Nabire. They are due to fly to Sugpa tomorrow morning. It’s been very hot and the team are looking forward to the slightly cooler weather at altitude.

5th Sep  The team departed the UK today with the first of many flights in order to get to Carstensz BC over the next 3 days.
