Carstensz Pyramid Expedition details and book online

27th September
We have arrived at our final destination for the day of Amhon. (Western Papua) It took most of the day and 3 flights but it was worth it. We celebrated our first full team diner together with a lovely fish and chicken spread. Looking forward to getting out tomorrow and seeing some of the sights.

28th September
Enjoying a little relaxing time before we head out to Sugapa and our 6 day jungle track to Carstensz Pyramid. We will be out of touch via email for the next 2 weeks now so updates will come in via the Sat phone.

1st October
The team have now arrived in to Trekking Camp 2 with heavy rain over the last few days in the afternoons. All are well and the rain hasn’t stopped them enjoying the jungle experience which has lived up to everyone’s expectations. Good food and the locals are helping to keep spirits high!

5th October
The group have arrived at Base Camp yesterday after a strenuous six day trek. The weather has been changeable with heavy downpours in the afternoon which is not unusual for the jungle. Today the group have been taking a well-earned rest with just a short walk up to view the route to the summit which they hope to attempt tomorrow. Good luck.

6th October – 100%  summit success!
Fantastic news from Carstensz Pyramid. Martin has just called us on the Sat phone to report 100% summit success. Setting off at around 1:30 in the morning and daylight brought stunning weather. The team summited at 8:30 in the morning and were back down to Base Camp by 3:30 tired but happy with their efforts. A huge congratulations to Jason, Adrian and Melissa and James from Adventure Peaks.

10th October
We are now back in Nabire after a successful summit attempt. We are enjoying so well deserved quality food, having a rest and enjoying the sun.
