Team: John Robson, Stuart Smith, Carlos Brent, Mark Stokes, Ronald Jones, Nicholas Hancock

22nd July – 100% SUMMIT SUCCESS. Matt and the team are all safely back at the barrels after a very successful summit attempt. Everyone topped out on the highest point in Europe. Well done folks

21st July – The team are in position to go for the summit. The acclimatisation phase went well with a successful ascent of Andirchi but bad weather curtailled the attempt on Krumrichi. They have now reached the Barrels on Elbrus and are getting ready for the summit attempt departing at 3am tomorrow morning. High pressure has dominated for the last few days and all the team are well and raring to go.

15th July – Matt has emailed us from the Baksan valley to say that all the group arrived safely in Russia. The group have had their first acclimatization walk, which was a long day but enjoyable. The team are resting in the valley today and sorting out kit necessary for their first load carry to the camp at 3200m below the VCSP pass. There has been quite a lot of rain recently in the area, which has caused some of the valleys to be closed. This should not affect the team on their acclimatization peaks
