19th August: In the early hours of yesterday morning we left The Barrels for our summit bid, 7 of us took the snow cat up to our previous position at 4700m with Martin and Laura electing to walk from the barrels, we were all hopefull of summit success.

By the time we reached 5000m and the start of the traverse, bad weather was closing in, at this point Alison decided to turn back. There then followed a very difficult but successful climb in difficult weather which eventually saw 8 out of 9 clients on the summit. Later we were all glad to be back at the barrels. Back in the valley now about to enjoy shashlik and beer. Mark Riley

17th August: Yesterday we all took an acclimatisation walk up to the Pashtykhova Rocks at 4850m. All the team were well and in we finished in an average time. Tonight we go for summit at 3am, Martin and Laura will start early and walk from the Barrels, hopefully this time tomorrow i can give news of summit success. Mark

13th August: Today in a slight change to the itinerary we had our first venture onto the slopes of Elbrus for an acclimitsation walk up to Purit 11 hut at 4060m. Not many views today as we practice ice axe skills in inclement weather before scuttling off down in front of thunder storm, on the up side all the team are well acclimatised and strong. Tomorrow a trip to Adulsu valley for climb of Andyrchi. Mark

10th August: Hi all, just a quick update to say after nearly 36hrs of traveling a slightly weary group arrived save and sound in Terskol, with all there baggage. Now enjoying a quick beer before an early night. Mark

9th August 2014: The Team will depart the UK on the 31st of July arriving in Moscow before travelling on to Mineralnye Vody to make their final preparations for the mountain.
