Elbrus June 2012 Expedition News

We have a video for this trip very kindly supplied by Ian Hobson who was a client on the June expedition to Elbrus. If you are thinking of going to Europe’s highest peak this is well worth watching.

2nd July: The team have now made all their acclimatisation having now climbed up to the rocks of Pastohov. The weather has not been particularly kind to other teams so far this season, but hopefully they will get clear window they need to make the summit bid.

26th June: Dean sent a text in to say the team have arrived back at their hotel after completing their 2nd acclimatisation trek, taking the group to over 3000m with yesterdays trek achieving  a similar height. The group also had their first chance of glacier travel. The group are now preparing for two nights remote camping where they will attempt Andrychi and Kumrychi

Leader: Dean Beard

24th June: All the team have now safely arrived in the Baksan valley and will start their acclimatisation over the next few days.
