Leader: Graham Uney

13th September

Summit success!

Congratulations to everyone – the team are just back from a very successful summit attempt. All nine clients made the summit at about 10.40am in beautiful but cold weather. We’re now packing up at the Barrels, ready for a truck ride down into the valley.

11th September

All good here on Elbrus. We’ve had our final acclimatisation climb today, we all made it up to the top of the Pastukov Rocks. Tomorrow is going to be a rest day, then summit day on Friday.

10th September

The team are now all up at the Barrels on Elbrus. They arrived this morning and have had a good acclimatisation walk up to Priut 11. Tomorrow we’ll go to Pastukov Rocks. At the moment it’s looking likely that we’ll then have a rest day on Thursday and summit bid on Friday. The weather looks favourable at the moment.

9th September

It appears Autumn is starting to set in around the Elbrus region. The team are just back from a cold ‘Scottish’ couple of days at Syltran Lake. We climbed the lower East summit of Mukal at 3600m. Thick clag and minus 2 in camp, until this morning, which was beautiful.
