Bolivian 6000m Trilogy

Bolivian 6000m Trilogy

From £4,575
Altitude 6,542m Grade: 3C

The Bolivian 6000m peak Trilogy is unique to Adventure Peaks and provides an excellent opportunity to climb Bolivia's 3 highest peaks and probably provides some of the most stunning and best climbing in the world.

The Bolivian 6000m Trilogy Expedition combines the ascent of Bolivia’s three highest peaks, with a journey to the most remote and beautiful areas of the Cordillera Real. This Bolivian expedition includes firstly the third highest, Ancohuma 6427m, a magnificent isolated mountain that is seldom climbed but has the most wonderful glacial approach and pyramidal summit. Secondly, Illimani 6438m, dominates the city of La Paz and can be seen from all corners of the city. Unlike Ancohuma, Illimani gets many ascents and it is the highest peak of the Cordillera Real. Thirdly, we climb Sajama 6542m, an extinct stratovolcano which oozes solitude as it rises above the immense openness of the Cordillera Occidental to form the highest mountain in Bolivia.

Bolivia is renowned for having the most stable and reliable mountain weather. It has certainly lived up to its reputation as we have always experienced the most wonderful weather over the last decade, allowing us to complete our full programme of peaks on every expedition.

This Bolivian expedition is ideal for those who have climbed Alpine routes of AD or Scottish Winter Climbs of grade II and III.

If you would like to discuss options based on your experience please contact us. A less technical alternative expedition is the Bolivian Peaks Expedition.

Extensions are available for this expedition: Uyuni Salt Lakes - Uyuni is the biggest Salt Lake in the world with its many interesting sites including the Red and Green Lagoons. Amazon Basin - A 4-day extension to Rurrenabaque with walks and boat rides. Please see the Trip Dossier download tab for further details.

Insurance

It is essential for a trip of this type that you are adequately insured. When researching insurance options, please ensure the policy covers you for the following:

  • Cancellation or curtailment
  • Helicopter rescue (most insurance companies will no longer cover for ‘search and rescue’ but providing you stay with the group, they will assist with ‘rescue’)
  • Repatriation
  • The altitude that you are expected to attain
  • The location especially when travelling to Antarctica
  • Grade of trek/climb/expedition
  • Medical cover

Adventure Peaks partners with Global Rescue to offer the world’s leading travel protection services. Medical and security emergencies happen. When they do, we rely on Global Rescue to provide our clients with medical, security, travel risk and crisis response services. Without a membership, an emergency evacuation could cost over $100,000. More than one million members trust Global Rescue to get them home safely when the unexpected happens. We highly recommend our clients enroll with Global Rescue, in particular for peaks over 7000m:
