Leader: Mike Wynne

28th July: Mike called today to let us know that the team has arrived safely back in Islamabad. There were very few flights out of Skardu so they travelled back via the stunning Barbusa Pass and Nagar valley. 4 of the team have already departed for their journey home and the rest are recovering in the hotel out of the heat, before their early morning departure tomorrow. As Mike said, there is just time for a final curry, a quick watch of the Olympics on the TV, and then they will be ready for off, laden down with souvenirs. Congratulations to all the team for making it to K2 Basecamp, and we wish you a safe journey home.

Concordia is K2’s most spectacular view point and K2 base camp trek is one of the world’s top treks

25th July: A very quick update from Mike. All the team are safely back in Skardu. The group decision was to not cross Gondogoro La as some clients felt it was too much of a challenge.

20th July: The group are now back down to Concordia. After an updated weather forecast showing generally good conditions with light snow showers the group are deciding wheather to retrace their steps or go The Gondogoro La.

19th July: The group have arrived at K2 Basecamp tired but happy.

With limited views of the mountain due to light and occasional snow showers they are getting prepared for spending the night at Basecamp. Mike is extremely pleased with the group and their support for each other. Tomorrows plan is to head back down to Concordia weather dependant.

17th July: On schedule with mixed weather but raining today. Managed to fit in some fixed line training in preparation for going over the Gondogoro La. All the group are fit and well!

11th July: Mike sent a quick message to confirm the group arrived in Skardu today. All well and looking forward to setting off to Askole tomorrow.

9th July: Mike has emailed from Islamabad to say the group are now all together and are enjoying expoloring Islamabad. The flights to Skardu today were all cancelled, all being well the team will fly tomorrow.
