K2 Base Camp Trek & Gondogoro La 23 July 2008 Expedition News.

13th Aug – Due to bad weather, the team will drive back down the Karakoram Highway to Islamabad.

12th Aug – Darach called today to say that the team were now back in Skardu. They stayed in Ali Camp on Saturday and set out for the Gondogoro La at 1.30am. They reached the top of the pass around 7am, they then dropped down to Huspang where they camped for the night. The team are really pleased to have been able to get over the pass as the weather over the last couple of days has not been too forgiving.  They are the first team to achieve this feat this year. They are going to have a day of sightseeing before heading back to Islamabad.

1st Aug – The team are now at Paju, the weather is superb but has been very hot during mid day. The team will have a rest day at Paju before continuing up the Baltoro Glacier.

30th July – The team arrived safely in Islamabad and have made their way up the KKH to Skardu. They will depart today for Askole and will start trekking tomorrow.

23rd July – The team will depart for Islamabad on the 26th July
