Mera & Island Peak

18th Nov

The trek from Lukla to EBC went well and was done in 6 days as we are all so acclimatised. We all visited EBC this morning in perfect weather. Yesterday afternoon James and Martin climbed Kala Pattar. Ben hasnt been feeling great but is soldiering on!

We are in Pheriche tonight on our return journey to Lukla. We’re all looking forward to some thicker air and a few home comforts!!

12th Nov

We all arrived safely in Lukla after crossing Zatra La today, everyone is in good form. The Mera crew will fly to Kathmandu as soon as they can, and those who were planning on attempting Island peak have decided to trek to Everest Base Camp.

10th Nov

Today we trekked Mera La to Koto and everyone is in good form. The weather has finally turned. We saw nothing from Tagnag down, with mist, drizzle and flakes of snow.

9th Nov

In the early hours of this morning, the team made their way towards the Summit of Mera Peak.  Michael, Jamie and Martin reached the summit.  The team have made their way back down the mountain with those that reach the summit descending to the Mera La and the rest of the team descending to Khare.

8th Nov

The team have arrived at Mera High camp and will aim to leave for the summit tomorrow morning.  They have had perfect blue skies with very little wind whilst climbing to high camp.

6th Nov

Today the team have been refreshing their fixed line and rope work skills and tomorrow they move to the Mera La.

5th Nov

The team arrived in Kathmandu and after making their way to Lukla they have now trekked to Khare.
