Those who are going on to do Island Peak have dropped down to the Hinku valley, while Berty and Chris are at Khare, from where they will return to Lukla.

22nd October

Gavin called to say that the team headed to Khare yesterday in Scottish weather conditions. Had lunch and then headed to 5200 meters to aid acclimitisation. Today the weather is stunning and the team have spent their morning with skills training and gear organisation.

19th October

The team are marvelling at the wonder that is Nepal. The country and the people are beyond measure.

Some of the team have experienced Nepal before, and for others it’s the first time.

Today we arrived on Khote after six days trekking. The terrain has varied from jungle to bare mountainside. Highest altitude reached so far is 4600 mtrs.

Tea house accommodation allows a chance to relax in the evening and discuss the day’s events.

Meals are appetizing and filling and a competition has emerged between Rob and Colin to clean all the plates. Tomorrow we head for Tagnang.

The mountains we came to climb are getting closer….

15th October

Today the team have completed the trek to Pangkonngma, they are now in the lodge and all doing well.

14th October

The team and all their kit arrived in Kathmandu and have since flown to Lukla to begin their trek towards Mera Peak.

The team depart the UK on the 12th of October.
