Team: Graham D, Stephen W, Alexander P, Samuel G, Rebecca G, Lyndsay D, Anthony D, Anthony R, Ann F, Jackson B

21 Nov: Latest email from Liam: We are now in Namche and all is well. A few of us had a walk up to Ama Dablam basecamp yesterday and the others had a day resting in Pangboche. Today we got to Namche and plan to get to Phakding tomorrow. Lukla the next and then fly out the day after that.

19th Nov – Liam called in to say that all the team (bar one member who turned back at approx 5700m), successfully summited Island Peak yesterday. They had fantastic weather and conditions were absolutely brilliant for their summit day. The group are all feeling great and apart from a few coughs and colds are all in great spirits as they leave Base Camp today; heading for Dingboche. Liam will call in again in a couple of days to report updates.

An ascent of Mera Peak and the slightly more technical Island Peak, with spectacular views of the Himalayas.

17th Nov – Liam called to say that everyone was well, they were moving from Base Camp to ABC yesterday, with the intention of making their summit bid today. They planned to set off at 3am – hoping to reach the summit by 10am local time. Hopefully, we’ll hear from him again later today. Adventure Peaks wishes the team all the best for their summit bid.

14th Nov Liam called in from Dingboche yesterday, all the team are doing well and enjoying the good weather. Tomorrow they will head up to Chukkung and then on to Island Peak base camp the day after that.

11th Nov The team have now arrived at Namche. Liam reports the weather is great and the team are doing great. They plan to head to Pangboche tomorrow and then Dingboche the day after and then have a rest day there.

7th Nov The team are now at Ring Mu and will arrive in Phakding in 3 days time. All the team are well and enjoying the views. they have seen lots of people trekking out from Lukla. The rumor in country is that 3000 people were stuck in Lukla during the spell of bad weather.

3rd Nov The team still could not fly today even by helicopter and the weather looks like it is not going to improve until the end of the week. So the decision has been made by the team to change the itinerary as Mera & Island peak cannot realistically be achieved now. They have decided to travel to Jiri tomorrow and trek in to Lukla over the following six days. They will then just attempt Island peak and if time allows take in Everest base camp. They are now all looking forward to getting going tomorrow.

2nd Nov The team are still stuck in Kathmandu due to the weather. The team have decided to get a helicopter, which can operate in slightly worse conditions than the planes. So all being well they will fly to Lukla tomorrow.

30th Oct The team have arrived safely in Nepal and are staying at their hotel in Kathmandu. They plan to fly to Lukla tomorrow if the weather is fair.

29th Oct The team will depart the UK for Nepal today for the start of their expedition.

During the course of this expedition we are constantly rewarded with fine views of world famous peaks, including the towering Everest and Lhotse. Mera Peak’s notable summit provides one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Nepal. This magical vantage point offers stunning views of five 8000m peaks, Everest and Lhotse to the north, Kanchenjunga and Makalu to the east and the majestic Cho Oyu to the west.

The memorable Island peak offers a slightly more technical climb. The ascent involves a comfortable scramble, an intriguing rock ridge and then onto a wonderful glacier. Onwards, a steep snow headwall leads to a classic summit ridge.
