23rd August

Today we did our acclimatisation walk to the top of the Pashtykova rocks at 4500-4700m. We reached the rocks in good time and enjoyed views of Ushba then descended before the weather closed in. We’ll have a rest day tomorrow while we wait for better weather for our summit attempt.

18th August

Everyone has arrived safely in Mineralnye Vody, complete with luggage. The drive to hotel was uneventful if a bit wet with low cloud and rain, this I take as a good sign on the first day as it means it can only improve! We’ve done a kit check and briefing for tomorrow when we’ll  checked and briefed for tomorrow when we’ll head up the Syltran-Su valley.
