23rd July 2024 - Team Back in Bishkek

The team have arrived back in Bishkek. They have managaed to climb Racek Peak, Boks Peak and Snowflower Peak (Baichechekei).

17th July 2024 - Glacial Skills Training

Following on from the skills the teams learnt at the hut yesterday, today the team went up to the glacier to practice skills in the real environment.

15th July 2024 - Team at Racek Hut

Robin has messaged to say the tema have now arrived at the Racek hut making good progress on the trail. Tomorrow they will be joined by Alexei the local guide. The mountain view in the photos below shows Korona Peak in the background to the left, Racek Peak in the foreground and Free Korea Peak peak in the background on the right.

Robin is an IFMGA and British Mountain Guide, and was involved with Adventure Peaks’ Alpine courses from their inception. He has led professional and private expeditions to South America, Africa, Indonesia, Central Asia, Antarctica, the Arctic and the Himalaya. He has summitted Everest as a guide for Adventure Peaks, together with 6 clients and 5 Sherpas. Robin is a regular Adventure Peaks  leader, and recently successfully led our first expedition to Lhotse.

This course of alpine training and 4000m Peaks is set in a magnificent and unspoilt area of Kyrgyzstan far away from the crowded European Alps. The beautiful Ak-Sai glacier lies in the Ala Archa National Park, a protected alpine area in the Tien Shan Mountains of Kyrgyzstan. You will acclimatise whilst undergoing training in: ice axe and crampons, glacial travel, crevasse rescue, roping up and movement over glaciated alpine terrain, rock climbing and belaying.
