Leader: Michael Mason
After meeting with leaders from some of the other teams on the mountain, the team collectively decided to change tactics and abandon their summit attempt due to conditions on the mountain.
We went to Camp 2, then above that up a couloir to a high point of ~6100 m before descending in the morning back in base camp for lunch. A great steamed cake and celebration with the team that evening, then this morning back down to Humde.
Our team has just spent two nights at Camp 1 and reached a high point just below Camp 2. Arriving at Camp 1 itself is not for the faint-hearted, with slope angles of 65-70 degrees on 500m of fixed ropes.
This morning we went to pt. 5323, and this afternoon we had the Puja.
Moved up to Basecamp with an overnight stop at Subsje Kola. Resting here to acclimatise.
Visiting Guru Rinpoche Cave, Manang, and Praken Gomopa.
After a few days of driving on increasingly bumpy roads, we have arrived in Humde. This morning, we walked a short section where the road hasn't been repaired yet. Then after lunch took a short stroll up the valley to get a bit of a view too.
Day of kit checks, packing, permits, and a welcome meal. All ready to head out in the morning.
The team all arrive in Kathmandu
