Balkan Three Peaks - Norton Knatchbull

6th August 2026 - Summit success!

From our alternative start, the team assessed Gjeravica, Kosovo, after spending a night in the beautiful Gjakova. After 5 hours of breathtaking alpine scenery, the team got a chance to cool off in an alpine pool before descending to their accommodation back in Albania. Ready to take on the highest peak tomorrow, Mt Korab.

5th August 2026 - Change of Plans

Due to an old injury flaring up with one of the team on the walk today, the group have had to alter their plans. They will head to Gjakova in Kosovo and then attempt Mt. Gjeravica tomorrow.

3rd August 2026 - A Lake, a Ferry, and Valbone!

An early start from Shkoder had the team at the ferry in good time. After a spectacular journey, they ventured onto the first section of trail with just 5km to the guesthouse. This was a small test before their first peak and the monster day that is Kolata.

2nd August 2026 - From Luton to Tirana

After an early start, our team is en route. The Balkan Three Peaks is a serious challenge. It is no walk in the park! Chris, our leader, has described it as the equivalent of Ben Nevis (albeit with more height gain and descent) on a daily basis. Good luck Team NKS!

Update: The team arrived in Tirana and transferred straight to Shkoder. They finally made it after setting off at 2am with 12 hours of travelling. A walk around town, a rest and meal saw the team back to full strength. They are now ready to take on the Balkan 3 peaks.
