The team are down safe and sound back in civilisation, ready to celebrate a successful expedition.
Congratulations to the team who summited Nelion on Mount Kenya today in perfect conditions with clear blue skies. We look forward to seeing the photos!
Today the team are at Shiptons Hut at 4200m , they are having great weather in the mornings before a few showers of rain move in, luckily by then they are usually in camp. Tomorrow sees the team move up to 4790m to the Austrian Hut.
Our team have arrived in Nairobi.
David wrote, the travels to Kenya were super straightforward, although we all felt a little anxious with the ever changing situation it all went very smoothly.
We have met the two local guides Bongo and Joseph who are very friendly and had a little walk around Nairobi as a team.
Now time for dinner, sleep, and then into the mountains!
The team have set off on their journey to Climb Batian (5199m) and Nelion (5188m) before descending via Point Lenana (4985m) giving them the chance to climb all three summits.
Carrie Gibson has traveled on many of our expeditions including Everest North Ridge, Denali, Aconcagua, Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Island Peak & Ama Dablam. Carrie is also the first British woman to summit Himlung Himal.
