Suitable for climbers of any ability who want to progress their outdoor climbing skills. Our instructors will adapt the session to your needs and previous experience.
Lesson content: Access & approach, use of guidebooks, trad grading, how to place wires, cams & slings, how to build anchors with either ropes or slings. This is a skills-based session designed to teach you how to build bottom-rope & top-rope systems at single pitch crags.

A one-day course to introduce you to Scrambling in the Lake District, an exciting and challenging way to ascend your favourite summits away from the crowds. Good scrambling routes follow broken rocky ground requiring careful footwork, simple rock-climbing skills and a good head for heights. The severity of the scrambles undertaken will be tailored to your present ability from the classic Jack’s Rake on Pavey Ark (grade 1) to more complex grade 2 scrambles where the occasional use of ropes will be needed
You should have experience of hill walking and be happy on the classic walkers’ ridges such as Striding Edge or Sharp Edge indicating you have a good head for heights and steeper terrain and a reasonable level of fitness.
These course sessions are solely for you and your friends/family as a private booking, you are NOT joined to any other group.
Guided Walks £40 per person
Our Lake District Guided Walks are aimed at walkers who would like to explore the Lake District fells under our expert guidance without the need to have good navigation skills. The Guided Walks are graded from easy to hard. Due to COVID you can book as a single household such as a private individual, a couple, a family or friends living together. Our walks run in the summer months from Easter to September and as winter walks in Dec-March.
About Stu Peacock
Stu Peacock is a very experienced high altitude mountaineer who has been to the Summit of Everest, Broad Peak, Cho Oyu, Manaslu and climbed on K2. His other expeditions include: Ama Dablam, Annapurna IV, Peak Lenin, Aconcagua, Khan Tengri, Tien Shan Unclimbed, Korzhenevskaya, Himlung Himal, Baruntse, Mera & Island Peak, Alpamayo, Bolivian Peaks, Spantik, Carstensz Pyramid, Elbrus, MtArarat, Mexican Volcanoes, Mt Kenya and Kilimanjaro. He was the first Brit to summit Everest via the North Ridge 3 times and has climbed Everest from both the North & South sides.
