Today, Andrei reached the summit of Chimborazo. Robin reached 5600m and Phil decided to stay at camp Stubell.
On Saturday, the weather stopped the team from reaching the summit of Cayambe, with significant avalanche risk stopping them progressing past 5000m. Undetered the team dropped down to Tambopaxi lodge to rest and recover ready for their attempt on Cotopaxi. Yesterday, the whole team reached the summit of this stunning cone shaped volcano.
Yesterday, the team reached the summit of Illiniza Norte. They ascended along the scrambly SE ridge from the col between the North and South summits. From the summit they then descended via the East Face path.
Yesterday, the team climbed their first volcano, Pasochoa. Today they will move up to the Illiniza refuge in preperation of their ascent of Illiniza Norte tomorrow.
The team will fly out to Ecuador today and make final preperatins for the trip.
