10th October 2025 - Trek to Khunde

Today the team have trekked up to the village of Khunde, our last tea house before moving up to base camp tomorrow. We had a leisurely journey up, stopping off at the Everest museum, another stop at the Everest View Hotel to top up the ginger tea levels, lunch in Khumjung as we passed through, before reaching our destination.

9th October 2025 - Ascent of Khunde Peak

Due to the distuption caused by the high rainfall in the region prior to the start of our expedition, there has been a delay in getting the equipment needed for the climbing into Lukla and up to our base camp. This equipment has now caught us up today. Because of this we are spending an extra night tonight in Namche. We put the extra day to good use with a walk up to the village of khunde, then an ascent of Khunde Peak at 4200m, a great bit of extra acclimatisation before reaching base camp. Tomorrow we retrace our steps to the Village of Khunde for an overnight stay, then move up to our 1st camp the following day.

8th October 2025 - Everest View Hotel

Following an overnight in Phakding, the team made the beautiful trek along the Dhubh Kosi river, crossing the numerous wire bridges and dodging the trains of Jhopkya carrying goods up and down the trail, untill eventually reaching the heart of the sherpa kingdom, Namche Bazaar yesterday. Today is an acclimatisation day, we trekked up to the famous Everest View Hotel at 3880m, taking in the spectacular first view of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam whilst enjoying some mid morning ginger tea and cake. Continuing our trek to the village of Khumjung for lunch, a visit to the monastery, then back to Namche Bazaar for another night

This morning the helicoptered to Lukla. Due to the recent weather situation in Nepal and the landslides that have happened, the team decided to not risk the additional delays and opted for the helicopter option to Lukla. They have now started their trek to Phakding.
