Chris has sent a message to say the team reached the summit of Mount Ararat and they are now on their way back down to Camp 2.
Starting at camp 1 and ascending the same route as yesterday, the team made it to camp 2 at 4200m. Arriving for midday, the team made their final preparations for their summit bid tomorrow.
Acclimatisation day today.The team had a leisurely start from camp 1 at 10am, headed for camp 2. After three and a half hours they arrived at 4200m for a well earned rest and lunch. After lunch they turned around, back down to camp 1. We prepare to move up to camp 2 tomorrow for our summit bid.
Today, the team drove up to the start of the route up Mount Ararat, at 2400m. From there a gentle ascent through the Ararat tundra took us to Camp 1 at 3360m, where we will spend 2 nights.
Today the Team Depart their home countries to start the long journey towards the town of Doğubeyazıt. From here they will ready their kit and set off towards their main objective.
