Leader: Andreas
Jamie messaged late last night to say all the team reached the summit yesterday. It was a tough climb, but the weather was perfect. They are now looking forward to celebrating in Bahia Inglesa. Well done to all the team.
Today, the team climbed to 6200m on Ojos as part of their acclimatisation. They will now rest at base camp ready for their summit bid.
Today, the team broke through the 6000m barrier, by climbing the remote Volcano Copiapo.
Today, the team have climbed their first main peak in the itinerary, Siete Hermans, which translates to the Seven Sisters in english. It gets its name from its physical appearance: the summit area of the mountain features a group of seven distinct volcanic-looking points or peaks, which resemble seven “sisters” standing side by side.
This morning the team have made their acclimatisation walk above Vallecito and this afternoon, they will trasfer over to their camp at Laguna Santa Rosa.
The team head off from the UK to Copiapo to commence their Ojos Del Salado Expedition
