12th January
The team have all arrived on Sunday and are well fed and rested – now we’re ready for the Atacama and eventually Ojos del Salado (in our three truck convoy!)

14th January
Giles and the team are now sitting on the Seven Sisters Peak which is just below 5000m and part of the acclimatisation for Ojos del Salado. Everyone is feeling fine and looking forward to completing their 3 hour walk back down to enjoy a sumptuous feast to be prepared by Jeff.

18th January
On Thursday the team climbed Cerro Pastillitos which is 5000m, this was excellent acclimatisation for the team and very cold, a real contrast from the warmth of the Atacama desert.

Friday saw us move camp again, then Saturday we summited Copiapó volcano at 6052m. Everyone is well and healthy and enjoying the trip. Sunday we will be transferring to the Base Camp for Ojos del Salado, for now we’re just having lunch and then finishing drive to base camp. If all goes to plan, we hope to go for the summit Wednesday or Thursday, but no later than Thursday.

19th January
The team have made their first carry to high camp on Ojos today. They are planning to have a rest day tomorrow at base camp and then move up to high camp on Wednesday. They will set off in the early hours of Thursday morning for their summit bid, so far the weather is looking really good for them.

21st January
Giles reports: We are all resting at the refuge at top camp this afternoon and evening. We’ve been looking up to the route ahead of us for our 8-9 hour hike to the top. Breakfast at midnight for a 2 a.m. departure for the summit bid. Fingers crossed!
23rd January
Summit Success for 7 clients! We summited on Thursday morning with Ann, Geoff and James summiting with guide Julio. Bill, Len, John and Martin with leader Giles.
Matt and Shamin each achieved an altitude personal best this week. The team is exhausted and delighted and safely in Base Camp now. Well done everyone!!
