Cookies
When you visit the Adventure Peaks website we collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour on the site. We also use cookies (pieces of text files that a website can send to your browser and are stored on your computer or mobile device). We collect this information in a manner that does not identify persons directly. Whilst Adventure Peaks is the principle data collector, please note that this website also uses Google Analytics cookies that provides Adventure Peaks with information about how our website is being utilised and how visitors navigate through the website. E-mail Mailout List
Adventure Peaks maintains an email list which you can subscribe to by: emailing your request to info@adventurepeaks.com, ticking the checkbox when you fill out the Contact Us form on the website, submitting your email address using the e-newsletter widget in the website sidebar, ticking the checkbox on the checkout page of our website or requesting to join by telephone. Email addresses are held on our internal database and on a separate email list which we use to send out e-news. The email list for e-news is held on a GDPR compliant mailing service server.

Postal Mailout List
The postal mailout list is used to send out our brochure and marketing material to those who have attended one of our Expeditions, Treks or Courses, or requested to join our postal mailing list. Details are held on our secure server that is UK-based.

At all times we provide a clear opt out option.

Security Statement
We have taken all reasonable steps and have in place appropriate security measures to protect your information.

Online Retail Shop Customers

In order to process orders and send out newsletters, we will request your personal details, such as name, address and telephone number. We do not collect debit or credit card information. For all online purchases, payment information is entered through a secure payment gateway provided by our online banking partners, and we do not have access to the data.

If a telephone order is placed, your debit or credit card information will be inputted directly into our ‘PDQ machine’ without retaining card information.

Controlling your personal information
You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information in the following ways:

Whenever you are asked to fill in a form at the checkout stage on the website there will be a tick box for subscribing to our newsletter. By default this is unchecked. If you wish to subscribe to the newsletter then you will need to tick the box.

If you have previously agreed to us using your personal information for direct marketing purposes, you may change your mind at anytime by emailing us at info@adventurepeaks.com

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we are required by law to do so.

Expedition, Trek and Course Clients

Your Information
This refers to a combination of information such as your name, contact details, travel preferences and special needs/disabilities/dietary requirements that you supply to us. Your information is collected when you request information from us, contact us, make a booking, use our website, connect with us via social media and any other engagement we have with you.

We will update your information whenever we can to keep it current, accurate and complete.

How we use your information

  1. For the purpose of providing you with our services, including your flight, holiday, permits, security, incident/accident management or insurance etc., we may disclose and process your information outside the UK/EEA. For you to travel abroad, it may be mandatory (as required by government authorities at the point(s) of departure and/or destination) to disclose and process information for immigration, border control, security and anti-terrorism purposes, or any other purposes which they determine appropriate. Some countries only permit travel if you provide your advanced passenger data (e.g. US secure flight data). These requirements may differ depending on your destination, even if not mandatory we may exercise our discretion to assist where appropriate.
  2. Information (such as health conditions) may be considered ‘sensitive personal data’ under the Data Protection Act 1998. We collect it to provide you with our services, cater to your needs or act in your interest, and we are only prepared to accept sensitive personal data on the condition that we have your positive consent. By booking with us you also agree for your insurers, their agents and medical staff to exchange relevant information and sensitive personal data with us in circumstances where we/they need to act on your behalf or in an emergency.

If you do not agree to our use of your information above, we cannot engage/do business with you or accept your booking.

Foreign Controls
Outside the European Economic Area (EEA), data protection controls may not be as strong as the legal requirements in this country.

Marketing Material

  1. Provided you have given your consent, we may from time to time contact you with information on offers of goods and services, brochures, new products, forthcoming events or competitions from our holiday and retail business.
  2. We will assume you agree to email marketing when you make an online booking or provide us with your email address in other situations such as competitions, promotions, prize draws and social media.

We will always give you the opportunity to opt out when you provide your details and you can always subsequently unsubscribe from our emails.

Links
We may post a link to another website as part of a news item. In such circumstances Adventure Peaks is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites.

Banner Adverts
This site carries no third party advertising, such as banner adverts.
