Lobuche Peak and Everest Base Camp

Lobuche Peak and Everest Base Camp

Altitude 6,119m Grade: 3B

ALL DATES SHOWN ON OUR WEBSITE ARE LAND ONLY. If adding flights from the UK, please allow 1 more day before the trip and no more days after the trip to cover air travel time.

Lobuche East (6119m) is one of the most challenging 'trekking peaks' in the Everest region and we have combined it with either our Classic or our Ultimate Everest Base Camp Trek. Unlike Island Peak the summit gives good views of Everest alongside the spectacular peaks of Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and Pumori.

The journey starts with a flight to the famous Lukla airstrip, from where we follow our respective Everest Trek to Lobuche. If you have trekked in via the 'Classic' route you will continue up to Gorak Shep for an ascent of Kala Patar and a visit to Everest Base Camp. Acclimatised we return to our main objective and from a high camp we climb Lobuche East with its magnificent panoramic views that will remain with you forever.

For those who have come via Gokyo and alreadt acclimatised on Gokyo Ri, you will cross the Cho La, descend to Lobuche and them make the ascent of Lobuche East.

Insurance

It is essential for a trip of this type that you are adequately insured. When researching insurance options, please ensure the policy covers you for the following:

  • Cancellation or curtailment
  • Helicopter rescue (most insurance companies will no longer cover for ‘search and rescue’ but providing you stay with the group, they will assist with ‘rescue’)
  • Repatriation
  • The altitude that you are expected to attain
  • The location especially when travelling to Antarctica
  • Grade of trek/climb/expedition
  • Medical cover

Adventure Peaks partners with Global Rescue to offer the world’s leading travel protection services. Medical and security emergencies happen. When they do, we rely on Global Rescue to provide our clients with medical, security, travel risk and crisis response services. Without a membership, an emergency evacuation could cost over $100,000. More than one million members trust Global Rescue to get them home safely when the unexpected happens. We highly recommend our clients enroll with Global Rescue, in particular for peaks over 7000m:
