The Mammut Ayako Low GTX is a low-cut hybrid approach shoe developed specifically for demanding approaches and scrambling. Initially developed by Mammut as a tough approach shoe capable of via ferrata in the Swiss Alps it was important for the Mammut Ayako Low GTX to be lightweight, direct, close-fitting and close to the ground. Here in the Lake District and other UK mountain regions, the Mammut Ayako Low GTX is a perfect all rounder from a walk up Skiddaw to tackling Striding Edge on the majestic Helvellyn.
With a rubber 3D heel support, FeetMap climate regulation, integrated memo foam and a pre-shaped tongue with elastic GORE-TEX construction the Mammut Ayako Low GTX is a shoe designed on a last capable of comfortably fitting a variety of foot shapes and sizes.
The robust leather and synthetic design features a sturdy sole with Vibram Friction and a climbing zone for short climbing sections and proven high-grip and climbing-compatible Vibram® Friction sole provide additional comfort, a precise fit and safety. The GORE-TEX Performance Comfort Footwear membrane keeps feet protected from the elements so they saty cool, dry and comfortable when enduring extreme weather.
