Skye Cuillin ridge 31st May 2019

Cuillin

Geraldine, Siobhan and I achieved a lot considering “challenging” Cuillin weather conditions. Despite rain, wind and limited visibility we covered a lot of scrambling terrain, at grades 1 and 2, we dealt with several deep river crossings and we managed to bag the Munro summits of Sgurr na Banachdich and Sgurr nan Eag in the process. Our planning and persistence eventually paid off, and the ridge cleared for a short period on our second day as we approached the summit of Sgurr nan Eag, giving us a crystal clear sky for the top. We had amazing views north up the ridgeline to the Inaccessible Pinnacle, and out to sea to the Isle of Rum. Although it can be tricky to catch the Skye Cuillin in the best weather, our time on the Ridge showed how much can be done come rain or shine!
