Another summit bid is accomplished. A big well done to the team for their efforts. Mick reached the summit around 4:40am followed by Chris, Andrew Whyte & Phurba at 5am. Andy Taylor & Lahkpa reached the summit around 5:30am. Due to the wind & cold Chris said they spent around 15 minutes on the top before heading back down the mountain.
5th May – We safely arrived in Lhasa today – lovely hotel. Group spent the afternoon sightseeing in glorious warm sunshine – it really is a lovely city. The Potala Palace is simply spectacular! We have a free day tomorrow and are all very much looking forward to flying home on the 6th.
1st May: We have made a successful journey through Nepal and into Tibet and arrived at base camp a few days ago. All well here at BC. The sun is shining and the team are having a rest day after getting to the black rocks at 6000m yesterday. We plan to move up to ABC in the next few days.
Leader: Rob Smith
21st May: Rob, Chris & Geoff all reached the summit at 10:45am this morning. They are now back at ABC and will head down to BC to meet the rest of the team tomorrow. Rob said the ascent was very cold and windy, so it was a relief not to hang around for too long on the summit.
