This autumn we have teams heading to all three of the most interesting and enjoyable routes up Kilimanjaro Africa’s highest peak, but which one will you choose? Selecting a route can often be a tough choice with so much information. Which is the most difficult, has the best scenery, the most footfall or the best acclimatisation?
11th September – 100% SUMMIT SUCCESS: They say that its not about the destination its about the journey and that’s true on many expeditions unless you all reach the destination together in which case it makes for a very emotional summit! Everyone will have their own stories to tell of summit night but I’m happy to say at 7.15 this morning the whole team stood on the summit of Kilimanjaro. It was a cold breezy night but we are all safely back at top camp. Speak soon, Carrie
12th September 2013 Summit success! – Great news just in from our own David Balshaw by text from the summit this morning. The whole group have successfully climbed Kilimanjaro, half reaching the crater rim at Gilman’s Point, and half reaching Uhuru Peak. Magnificent achievement – well done to everyone.
