This Winter Mountaineering Course is ideal for those who have previously completed a Winter Skills Course or Introductory Winter Mountaineering Course and want to take the next step to progress to climb graded Scottish routes.
Introductory to Snow and Ice Climbing is aimed at those who already have basic winter mountaineering skills and want to climb snow and ice at grades II to III. Some previous rock or indoor climbing experience and the ability to belay safely is essential.

It is based in the central Tien Shan, a wild and remote region of Kyrgystan at the base of Khan Tengri (7010m) one of the worlds most beautiful peaks. We fly in by helicopter for the training and climb Karly Tau Peak (5450m).
