This Introduction to Rock Climbing Course is aimed at anyone who wants to learn how to rock climb. It will help you learn the basics of rope work, understand the correct use of equipment and develop your climbing technique under the watchful eye of our expert instructors. Our base in Ambleside, in the Lake District, provides the opportunity to climb some classic routes in stunning locations. The course will aim to cover the following, depending on the specific requirements of the clients:

• Single pitch climbing
• Multi Pitch Climbing on 5 day course
• Classic Lake District Climbs
• Basic rope work
• Belay techniques
• Removal of protection
• Use of guidebooks
• Coaching of movement
• Safeguarding yourself on descent
• Safeguarding others abseiling

The course will be adapted to the prevailing weather conditions, good or bad. Don’t worry about possible poor weather, we will choose the best location to make the most of the local forecast.

Courses are offered on a non-residential basis, but you can request Adventure Peaks to book appropriate accomodation to meet your specific needs from bunkhouse to Hotel
