8th May The team are now back in Kathmandu where they will spend the next couple of days relaxing and enjoying the sights. Their last night in Lukla was spent celebrating their successful trip with their Sherpas and guides followed by a sing and a dance.

6th May Adam emailed to report the group are back in Namche after a successful trip around the Khumbu.  They have been very lucky, the Chinese closed off Base Camp to trekkers the day after they were there.  They enjoyed Gokyo with all but Stephen going up to Gokyo Ri where they had views of Cho Oyu, Makalu, Everest and Lhotse.  Its good to be lower again with more air and they enjoyed a glass of beer in the T-shirt Bar last night – adding a well signed Adventure Peaks T-shirt to the collection   Plans are to head back to Kathmandu a day earlier than originally planned as clients are looking forward to soaking up the atmosphere of this eclectic city.

1st May The group arrived at Everest Base Camp yesterday to be met by Stu and the Adventure Peaks Everest summit team.  They had a great welcome sharing chocolate biscuits and a jar of jelly beans whilst they soaked up the excitement and buzz of the various teams preparing to climb Everest.  They even managed to catch a film being premiered by the Adventure Peaks team!  This morning having said their farewells they have set out on their journey to Gokyo Lakes.

27th April  Adam and the team are now in Dingboche on a scheduled rest day. Everyone’s fine and acclimatizing well. This morning they all successfully climbed Nangkar Tshang 5050m and were rewarded with amazing views of Island Peak & Ama Dablam. They plan to head up to Lobuche tomorrow and hope to reach Everest Base Camp on the 30th.

24th April  An email has just arrived from Adam saying what a great day they have had visiting the Everest view hotel and seeing the world’s highest mountain for the first time.  Afterwards they enjoyed a well deserved beer in the T-shirt bar in Namche.  They have been sharing their lodgings with a BBC 24 news man who has been reporting live via satellite regarding the situation there.  An American climber had a Free Tibet banner at Camp I on Everest on Tuesday which has caused some issues for the Nepalese.  There is a greater security presence than normal and the group’s bags have been searched at various checkpoints along the way by the Army.  The team have made the decision to head towards Base Camp first and then over to Gokyo while it is still open to trekkers.  Namche has been busy today with the arrival of Chinese and Nepalese troops we think in readiness for the Olympic Torch.  Everyone is in good shape and the team will head off to Tengboche tomorrow.

23rd April  Adam emailed to report that the group had made it to Namche Bazaar and were in great spirits.  They will have a rest day tomorrow and visit the Everest view hotel for the first sightings of the highest mountain in the world followed by tea on the terrace.  From there they will move on to the Kumjung bakery.

19th March The team will depart from the UK on the 19th April and will meet Adam in Kathmandu.
